This Privacy Policy explains what data Psychology Self-Tests ("we", "this site") collects, why we collect it, how it is used, and the choices you have. We keep things simple and privacy-first: the personality tests and mini-tools on this site are for entertainment and self-reflection only, and are not a medical or psychological diagnosis.
1. What we collect
Test results (voluntarily submitted)
When you complete one of the personality tests, your answers and the resulting dimension scores are saved on
our server. They are linked only to a randomly generated alias (e.g. AB12CD34) that you are
assigned — not to your name, email, or any other personal identifier.
Technical data
To make the site work and to protect it from abuse, we temporarily store basic technical data with each saved result: your IP address and browser user-agent string. These are used only for security (rate-limiting, abuse prevention) and to help you recover your records. They are not sold, shared, or used for advertising.
Anonymous page views
Blog and page views are counted anonymously. The counter stores only aggregate numbers (which page, how many views) — no IP addresses, no user-agent, no personal data.
Mini-tools
The free mini-tools (Mood Meter, Stress Check, Sleep Snapshot, Breath Pause, 3 Good Things) store all data in your own browser's local storage. Nothing is uploaded to our servers. You can clear it anytime with the "Clear my saved data" button on the tools page.
2. How we use data
- To show you your test results and history when you return with your alias.
- To generate the optional AI Deep Read interpretation (your dimension scores are sent to a third-party AI provider for one-time interpretation; see section 4).
- To protect the site from abuse and keep it running reliably.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. We do not use it for advertising or profiling.
3. Data retention & your rights
Test results are kept until you ask us to delete them. You can:
- View your records anytime at "My Records".
- Delete all records linked to your alias with the "Delete my records" button on the My Records page (requires your alias and passphrase, if one is set).
- Request manual deletion by emailing us (see section 6) — we will process it within 72 hours.
We may retain anonymized aggregate statistics (e.g. total number of tests taken) that cannot be traced back to any individual.
4. AI Deep Read
The optional "AI Deep Read" feature sends your dimension scores and the test name to a third-party AI provider (currently Zhipu GLM) to generate a one-time interpretive text. The provider processes the data solely to produce the interpretation; we do not use it to train models, and the generated text is shown to you directly. The AI interpretation is for reference only, may contain errors, and is not a diagnosis. If you feel distressed, please consult a qualified professional.
5. Cookies & sessions
We use a session cookie to keep your quiz progress and remember your alias during your visit. This cookie is essential for the site to function and does not track you across other websites. No third-party advertising or tracking cookies are used.
